Mount the RVcam 795 on your dashboard! Relocate ball mount! This shield provides some protection from overheating and impacts on the camera, but it’s biggest benefit is the ball mount’s relocation. Use a bolt if you want extra durability.
Garmin navigation devices, just like any tablet or fish finder can overheat in direct sunlight. When they're mounted in a windshield, these navigators run a-ok when the AC is blowing. What happens when the device is on and the truck is turned off? No AC? Hot day in while camping? Through the windshield, the sunlight bakes these electronics like an oven. The white heat shields give the unit some shade, about a 8-15 F (4-8C) cooler when the windshield is in direct sunlight. We haven’t tested the gray or black ones, but customers have requested differing colors.
When the units overheat, they’ll turn off. Sometimes, they even master reset in the process. A master reset can removes all saved data on your device.

Warranty? Limited lifetime warranty. It is limited to the heat shield only. The heat shield is a consumable. It is your ultimate responsibility and liability to protect and use your device in a manner which meets local laws, safety and trail etiquette. If you break or damage your heat shield, we will send one replacement at no additional cost.
